The trailer for Flashback has been released.
I remember, I wanna say it was my junior year of high school, my friends asked me if I could help them with a movie they were shooting. I remember feeling so honored, because this was Brendan Rogers and John Mondelli, who put out brilliant videos and sketches on our monthly school TV show. They were very talented, and I felt like a cool kid knowing I was friends with them.
I remember an early version of filming, before they decided to go completely with a blue screen. We were filming in an office on the campus of Stetson University. It was already so late when we started and we were edging towards the 3am mark. Even I was getting pissy. It wasn’t a very long scene, but we were just putzing around. Well, it got to that point of delirium where we were questioning the way you say the lines. “This is our secret weapon.” “This is our secret weapon.” “This is our secret weapon.” And so on… Had it not been for the promise of Brendan’s mom’s smoothies the next day, I’m not sure how long I would have lasted. After all the trouble we went through, they changed their minds and went in another direction with the movie. I thought, “If this is what it’s like to make a movie, count me out.” I was an impatient little bugger.
Filming resumed full force about 2 years later. Brendan and John were always so eternally grateful for the help. And now when this trailer has come out, I am bursting with pride for them. It looks great! I’m so happy for them!
